DQS organization of staff Conference 2015

On 24th December 2014, Dung Quat Shipyard (DQS) held Staff Conference in 2015, summing up business & production operations in 2014, implement of business & production plan in 2015.

Attending the meeting were Deputy Manager of Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone Dam Minh Le, Chairman of Petrovietnam Nguyen Xuan Son, member of the Board members Petrovietnam Dinh Van Son, Deputy General Director Petrovetnam Nguyen Hung Dung, Chairman of Petrovietnam Union Ho Cong Ky. DQS Chairman Ta Duc Tien, General Director Tran Hoan An, Chairman of Union Vo Tan Thanh and more than 150 delegates representing nearly 1,500 employees throughout the company attended the meeting.

At the meeting, DQS General Director Tran Hoai An reported that the year 2014 is the difficult and challenge year of DQS. With the close direction of Petrovietnam, the cooperation and support from the unit members and especially the ongoing efforts of all DQS staffs, products DQS has great progress, delivered to ship owners as schedule and requirement of the contracts, ensuring the quality, safety and is highly appreciated by the Shipowner. DQS has completed repairing and handovering the VSP-05, Hoang Sa, Cuu Long Rig before the deadline. DQS has perform repairing Dai Hung 01 Rig for shipowner PVEP-POC reaching 60% of the workload in the contract, expected to be completed in May, 2015 and handed over to PVEP POC accordance with requirement of the schedule requirements.

Regarding conversion the crude oil tanker 105,000 DWT (105K) was basiclly completed, the ship was eligible for Sea trial, expected delivery to PVTrans in March, 2015.

In 2014, the total revenue is 992.50 billion VND (including: DQS - 923.71 billion VND; NTS - 68.8 billion VND) equivalent to 74% of the plan, Total Cost: 991.4 billion VND, of which: DQS - 908.5 billion VND; NTS - 82.91 billion VND, submit to state budget at amount of 83.45 billion VND, corresponding to 102% of the plan, this is a good sign of the efforts of the Board of Directors and staffs in a year, marking the progess for the next year.

Also in 2014, DQS met some difficulties such as investment capital for construction; audit and settlement, handle exists for the construction; investment adjustment Project of Nhon Trach shipbuilding Company- phase I; maintenance works encountered financial difficulties and the backlog of untreated definitely old debt. However, DQS always interested in performing tasks such as: Business marketing; conversion DQS into a joint stock company; training; work health and safety environment... . In 2015, DQS expected to complete conversion of the 105K into FSO and delivery to PVTrans in March, 2015, complete the repairing Dai Hung 01 rig, Truong Sa vessel in the first quarter of 2015. By the end of 2015, DQS is going to complete 50% of the volume of repairing Chi Linh. Construction of approximately 50% of the 02 AHTS 12,000 CV; 95% of newbuilding VSP barge, Ship Repairing for PTSC, VSP and other ship owners in NTS and other works. Estimated total revenue is 1216.16 billion VND.

Speaking at the meeting, PVN Chairman Nguyen Xuan Son has praised the achievements of DQS in 2014, DQS has good prospered since transferred to PVN. The members in the group have supported DQS all aspects to create jobs and raise incomes; specialized departments coordinate with DQS implemented restructuring for efficiency has the potential to unleash investment, develop the strength of the field of shipbuilding and ship repair, the popular media ... Finally, he wishes DQS has a happy year.

In response, DQS chairman Ta Duc Tien sent grateful thank and receive the guidance of Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son. In the next year, DQS will make an effort with the support of the Group, as well as the member units to implement the guidance to overcome the difficulty.

At the staff conference, PVN leader has awarded a medal for the development of oil and gas to DQS Chairman Ta Duc Tien, Mr. Le Buoi - former Deputy Director of DQS and awarded by the Ministry of Industry to Le Van Chung, former 104K project Manager. Petrovietnam Union award for teams and individuals to achieve excellent performance in 2014 and the Conference also elected the People Inspection Board from 2015 to 2017 consists of 05 members.
