Preliminary emulation movement 90 peak day and night of repairing Tam Dao 01

(Petrotimes) - On February 5th, in Dung Quat Economic Zone (Quang Ngai), Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) in collaboration with Dung Quat Shipyard – subsidiary  of PVN) celebrated the preliminary emulation movement 90 peak day and night of repairing Tam Dao 01 jack up rig.

Attending the ceremony is Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group with leader of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the professional group board, representative of Vietsovpetrol  (owner of Tam Dao 01 jack up rig). For DQS leadership, there are Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi - Chairman of the Board Members; General Director Tran Hoai An and hundreds of youth union members, workers.

Tam Dao jack up rig 01 is one of the important rigs of Vietsovpetro (VSP). As schedule, the rig is expected to be repaired in the Dung Quat Shipyard from 15/10/2012 to 28/02/2013. this is the big project and the first rig to be repaired in Vietnam taken by DQS with contract value $17.5 million.
Tam Dao 01 rig with length 65.38 m, width 68m, height 110m, design draft 4.5 m. Upon completion of repair, Tam Dao 01 rig will continue to be put to use to exploit the oil fields. Main repairing items are: electrical system, painting, hull structure, ballast system, mechanical system, power system, drilling ...

As this is the first time DQS repair the jack up rig, so in the first day of construction, DQS has plans of construction and supplying equipment and material, assigning jobs to every departments. On 20/11/2012, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group Youth in collaboration with DQS Youth to organize the movement of 90 day and night repairing Tam Dao 01 rig. This is the mission as well as the pride of DQS staffs. After 90 days and nights of repairing, DQS has achieved certain results, assuring schedule.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Hanh, project manager of Tam Dao 01 jack up of DQS reported the results of 90 days and nights repairing Tam Dao 01 rig. Accordingly, the schedule of the construction is tightly controlled, to ensure quality. The expected delivery time is 02/28/1013.
Evaluation of repairing work of DQS, Mr. Ha Van Dung, chief rig of Tam Dao 01 said that the progess now meet schedule and ensure good quality.

"Right from the beginning of construction, rig leaders are worried about the repairing of rigs in Dung Quat Shipyard as this is the first time DQS undertaken repairing rig. However, over three months of working with DQS, we find that the ability of all staffs increase and now can perform work with high quality requirements. We believe that with the close direction of DQS leaders, DQS staffs can repair other rigs of Vietsovpetro" Mr. Ha Van Dung sharing.
On behalf of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, Deputy General Director Nguyen Xuan Son appreciate achievements of DQS officials to ensure delivery the Tam Dao 01 for Vietsovpetro by end of Feb 2013. Mr. Son has required DQS leaders to review all task be carried out in Tet holiday, assign staffs for the necessary work, focused on take care for staffs’ life, especially workers who are under construction during the Tet holiday. On the occasion of New Year, Deputy General Director of the Group wish DQS leaders and all staffs members good health and happiness.
 

At the ceremony, individuals with ​​outstanding achievements in movement of 90 days and nights repairing Tam Dao 01 was awarded certificates of merit Vietnam Oil and Gas Group Youth.
